Without a Prescription
Suprax is prescribed to patients who are suffering from bacterial infections of:
- Urinary tract;
- To the individuals who have been diagnosed with the presence of a mild form of gonorrhea;
- Throat;
- The ears;
- Chest;
Suprax is prescribed for use in the treatment of the following infections when caused by susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms:
- Acute Bronchitis and acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae (beta-lactamase positive and negative strains);
- Otitismedia caused by Haemophilus influenzae (beta-lactamase positive and negative strains), Moraxella catarrhalis (most of which are beta-lactamase positive), and S pyogenes;
- Pharyngitis and tonsillitis caused by S pyogenes;
- Uncomplicated gonorrhea (cervical/urethral) caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae (penicillinase- and non-penicillinase-producing strains);
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infections caused by Escherichia coli and Proteus mirabilis;
Overdose
In the case of a Suprax overdose, the symptoms which a patient can experience include the following:
- Blood in the urine;
- Diarrhea;
- Headaches;
- Nausea;
- Upper abdominal pain;
- Vomiting;
Side Effects
It is a well known the fact that any medicine has its side effects; in the case of Suprax, the clinical manifestations which can appear include:
- Vomiting and mild diarrhea;
- Nausea;
- Loose stools;
- Itching;
- Inflammation of the large intestine;
- Indigestion;
