Without a Prescription
Bambec, with the generic names of Oxeol and Bambuterol, works by widening the airways thus resulting to better breathing. It doesn't relieve an acute asthma attack that has already started.

Intake Guidelines
Bambec must be taken as directed by your doctor. If there is any instruction that appears unclear to you, ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
Dose is normally taken shortly before bedtime with a full glass of water. It is swallowed whole or divided into two pieces.
Usual dosage for adults starts at 10-mg (10 mL oral solution or 10 mg tablet) per day. The dose may be altered per your doctor's discretion.
For children aging 2-5 years old, dosage starts at 10-mg (10 mL oral solution or 10 mg tablet) per day. Oriental children are given 5-mg (5 mL oral solution or half a 10 mg tablet) per day.
For children ages 6-12 years, dosage starts at 10-mg (10 mL oral solution or 10 mg tablet) per day. The doctor may decide to increase the dosage after 1-2 weeks of treatment. Oriental children must not be given dosage higher than 10-mg per day.
Dosage
Unless directed by your doctor, Bambec must not be double dosed. If you happen to miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember as long as it is not almost time for the next scheduled dose. Otherwise, skip missed dose and proceed with the next.
Overdose
Symptoms of over dosage include:
- Dizziness or unusual drowsiness;
- Headache;
- Muscle cramps in the hands, feet, or legs;
- Nausea;
- Nervousness, restlessness, or trembling;
- Rapid heartbeat;
Should you feel any of the symptoms above, phone an emergency room or poison control left for the proper medical attention.
Side Effects
The following reactions are expected within 1-2 weeks of treatment. Inform your doctor if you observe any of these conditions:
More common are,
- Headache;
- Muscle cramps in hands, feet, or legs;
- Nausea;
- Rapid heartbeat;
- Trembling;
Less common include,
- Skin rash;
- Sleeping difficulties, agitation, hyperactivity, and restlessness;
Rare reaction may entail irregular heartbeats.
For other symptoms not mentioned that are particularly causing discomfort, tell your doctor immediately.
Interactions
Inform you doctor if you are currently taking other drugs, like beta-blockers, as they may reduce the effectiveness of Bambec when taken at the same time. Effects of muscle-relaxing drugs like succinylcholine may also be prolonged in surgery if taken with Bambec.
